Topaz Eyes
 by Laurie Pace -  24 x 24 Framed.

Every painting has a journey. This one was a struggle in many ways.  It began totally different than it turned out. The original sketch did not work at all... resulting in me wiping the canvas as clean as I could. Then came sketching a new face that might work. Below are a few progress shots.  I have been a brown eyed girl my entire life. As I aged past sixty, I found a lighter amber and some green in my brown eyes!  Hence I sought such beauty in the eyes of this face.

But the close ups are amazing once the piece began to come together!  Each of us as a human being walking this earth go through the valleys and climb the mountains and experience life in so many ways that is molds us and creates in us a deeper being and soul.  This is true painting on a canvas as well.  The longer you work and seek level... the deeper the experience and journey is creating the painting.

One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple."  Psalm 27:4
