Do I remember this painting?  YES!! I had FUN painting it. Buffalo Run and total fun.  Compared to my other buffalo pieces, this has motion. It Rocks!!!  My favorite Buffalo painting!  As I step back into painting I see authentic motion and not a 'pretty painting' necessarily.  This piece went to Mirada Fine Art in Colorado, but Steve Sonnen, the owner, did not think it would sell.  It did. It did right away at the show I painted it for! It actually makes me want to start one right now.... I do not think I have enough paint, but it might be worth finding out!

Layers of color and overlays create this entire painting, keeping a tiny part of the realism and loosing to abstract shapes throughout. This type of work brings joy to me as the painter and to you and your home. It has power in the paint, celebrating freedom and life.

"As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
2 CORINTHIANS 4:18 (ESV)

What Kind of Power and Freedom?

An artist's journey is closely mirrored to any person's journey here on earth. We are either over focused on our artwork, or only focused on one thing and ignoring the rest.  Worry is one of the top emotions that drags humans down. Children learn it from their parents through all the fears and worries of everyday life. Today children no longer go out and play and have bare feet on the concrete or on the ground, developing callouses and tough feet.  Children stay inside in the cool playing video games and watching TV. They truly know nothing about playing tag until sunset, or foursquare, or badminton etc...  I remember walking three miles from my house to Flag Pole Hill to play on the swings and play equipment there. Basically we checked in with Mom for lunch at 11:30 and for dinner about 5:00 so we could help with anything she needed. We were outside playing with our friends. Even in junior high we gathered at each others homes and sat outside with guitars and wrote songs.

What has happened to us? Television, computers, electrical things right and left. People do not talk, they do Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and more.  When was the last time you stood in your bare feet on the grass for 20 min? Try it. You actually will feel calm and rested.

Even these cell phones keep us from being connected to others. Eyes on, Hugs on, Talking on, connecting through life.  We need it and miss it.  Too much confusion in every direction.  Get the electrical stuff down to a minimum in your home and your life.  Walk away from all the 'transient stuff' and connect and rebuild your relationship in person and with God who loves you. Talk to Him throughout the day.  2 Corinthians 5:7 "For we walk by faith, not by sight.. "

Look at those Buffalo again... They naturally move together in the waves of grass in faith of that moment and not worried about what they cannot see. Not encumbered by this world.

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert and Shelia at the Southlake Lowe's in Appliances

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me” I can only speak for mys

Piano Girls

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Girl on Piano Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Our prayers are with the southeastern Gulf coast as a hurricane approaches. We have family and friends in this area. This painting was a more impressionistic piece than the Girl on Piano pieces from 2008-2010.  It is the tilt of the head and the precious lift of the hand with the outer small finger delicately angled. Not quite old enough to be using pedals, her feet are crossed below the bench. Back in the day of my lessons and playing in the late fifties and early sixties, young girls wore dresses. I miss those days. I still prefer dresses over pants today... even my studio jeans.  One of my modern girl on Piano pieces.... "Playing for Papa" These make incredible gifts for the holidays using music that is important to you or to the person receiving the gift. In the midst of commissions right now.  I loved playing for my grandmother and my Dad.  Shop other Av
