Intense layering of colors with contrast and energy created the composition in The Rising Star in the Heavens.  The horse's face is bathed in white as he raises his head level with the canvas edge. The colors of the horse reflect the royal color of purple. Horse 88... only 12 more to go!

Saturday... time is flying past this week and Christmas is less than a week away. Terry and I are blessed to live so close to family again.  Plans are in place to share time with as many family members as we can gather together where ever we can gather.  

Often holidays stretching from the sugary Halloween through the overeating of Thanksgiving and the pre holiday festivities of parties leaves us tired and spiritual barren.  When you live your life from moment to moment or party to party, you lose the spiritual beauty of the season. What better time is there for a spiritual re-birth than Christmas?  Time to slow down...breath.

That poor little 8 x 10 pony was loved by a company to do very large prints and it was not here for me to even use to scan... so I created something with the same heart, a kindred spirit. The underlays are pages from a western book and then torn papers of different varieties were added along with stains of paint and purposeful areas of paint.  This would not be a painting I would do today, but the goal was to capture the spirit of the first painting. We lost another dear family member this week. She has celebrated her 'continuation' day and is now with her mom and dad and her other cousins.  She leaves behind a family that will always celebrate her gentleness.  My aunt was special to all of us. She loved each of us dearly for who we were and was always ready with a hug or a 'good job'.    My memories are of breakfast pastries smeared with butter on top.
