Sketches of Conductor 2 Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, Ducks in a Row

Conductor and Pianist Commissioned Painting in Progress 36 x 36 inches     © Laurie Pace   Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me for Commission Work. Laurie This is the beginning sketch for a commissioned painting in the line of the conductor I painted three years ago.  I am really excited about painting this because I play the piano. The woman I am painting this for is an internationally known conductor as well as an internationally know pianist. As you know Lady L is visiting so my blog is short today.  Terry snapped this of  the two of us on the swing yesterday.    Ducks in a Row Does that ever happen?  Terry gave up making plans. He was weary of spending so much time and energy and then nothing worked... but he does enjoy God's laughter.   We are trying to make plans for the next three months... well maybe tentative plans??  Is that possible? Should we call them goals?  Whatever it is called, we are ...

Racing the Storm Sailboat Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, God Bless America and Those Serving to Defend Her.

Racing the Storm SOLD I will be painting additional sail boat paintings this next month so stay tuned. Our boats are being made ready for sail this weekend and once I am out on the lake, I am ready to paint the wind!        © Laurie Pace   Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me for a Sailboat painting: Laurie Memorial Day This is still part of our first year without Ben's physical presence in our lives.  Spiritually we feel him daily in his beliefs and teachings that he gave this family.   He served God first and foremost in his life.  He served his country both in the Air Force as well as in the Navy.    We love him and miss him and are grateful for his giving in our lives and his defending of the country he loved so much.  Our prayers today are for all those who serve in our armed forces depending our rights of freedom and liberty and to the thousands that have gone before them blazing trails for others...

Coming up Roses Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, The Wedding

Roses Sold 24 x 36 inches  Oil on Canvas ©Laurie Pace  Graphics One Design 1998-2011      THE WEDDING It is already 9:30 on Sunday...and I have been up since seven transferring images from our camera to photoshop and into facebook and now a few for the blog.  Can't write much today but sharing the joy. The wedding was FABULOUS.  A bit hot as the A/C seemed unable to keep up.  You can see the sweat on our brows literally.  The reception area was a bit better but still not Texas cool for the heat wave that descended upon us. Morgan and Kelly are bound for their honeymoon on the beach for the next week...the new Mr and Mrs Pace.  I asked Terry if that also gave her the new Mrs Honey Bunny nick name.   He replied she is the Mrs. Mini Honey Bunny. Blessings to all. Laurie           “But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousn...

Abstract Wedding Day Heart Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Wedding Day 11 z 14 inches Oil on Canvas Beautiful Heart Painting with rich vibrant beating of colors. SOLD ©Laurie Pace  Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me for your own heart Painting: Laurie     The Day has arrived!  Our youngest son gets married this evening.  I had pictures on my iphone from the rehearsal last night, but have encountered the strangest thing that my iphone has no internet connect for some odd reason. Not sure if this is universal or related only to my iphone.  Justin just hooked my iphone up to internet. The old Dallas Church they kids chose to get married in looks pretty ancient. The owner which converted it to a wedding venue, did not have the history on the church. Terry is a mason and we were telling him that most times the first foundation cornerstone would have some indication of marking of the date that the building was constructed.  The owner truly knew nothing of the history of the building and we thou...

The Baptism Watercolor by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

The Baptism 10 x 14 plus a beautiful custom Gold Frame. Pictures available upon request. Original Painting Now Available  It is framed in a beautiful Gold frame from the Dutch Art Gallery and is available to purchase for the first time. I kept this piece in my personal collection for the past 12 years.  It only had 20 signed prints made of it over the years. It is a beautiful watercolor based on   Matthew 3:11 "I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry; he will baptize you with the Holy spirit and with fire."   © Laurie Pace  Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me if you are interested in this painting. Laurie       Counting to 10 Sometimes I wonder why we don't talk about counting to 10 more often.  As the wedding draws near this weekend I am watching those I love begin to battle and second guess themselves and the carefully l...

Abstract Horse Painting by Texas Contemporary Equine Artist Laurie Pace, Prayer for Marriage

Striving Sold      This is where it first began when I was about 11 or 12 years old.  It was the summer between 7th and 8th grade. This was 1966... at a party.  We had a huge group of friends and we gathered every Saturday at a different house for dancing, Twister and Spin the Bottle. This was in 1991 when we got married...twenty years ago. This was our engagement picture.  Wow look at all that hair!  He even has a mustache. The wedding that followed.....and now twenty years later!   You will have to wait for those pictures. I am still pretty sick and it put a huge damper on our plans.  Most of you know Morgan and Kelly are getting married on Saturday. We are tickled their anniversary will be so close to ours!! Our prayers surround them as they take this step and begin their journey. I decided to share this marriage prayer that Terry and I have used over the years we have been together.  Copy and save it; print it ...

Contemporary Horse Painting Mountain Appaloosa Painting by Texas Contemporary Artist Laurie Pace

Mountain Appaloosa Oil on Canvas 20 x 30 Appaloosa Horse Painting Oil on Canvas  Contact Steve at Mirada Fine Art to purchase.     ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me for commission work: Laurie   On the Wave... My mother's day present arrived yesterday.  I did not try it out yet because my ears are still stopped up from this head cold...but the kids bought me a new bose wave system and the soundlink is on it's way to pump my itunes into it.  Boy my studio will rock now! When things arrive in our lives they often cause other things to happen, be it positive blooming or sometimes difficult things to overcome.  God wants us to learn to ride that wave.  Do not fight it, but ride it.  Like being that leaf in a stream tousled by the waves and rocks.  We tend to get hurt in life when we fight things. God wants us to ride the wave. If we do that we will not be pulled under. Hopefully my new Wav...

Abstract Horse Painting Racing the Sun by Texas Contemporary Fine Artist Laurie Pace

Racing the Sun Oil on Canvas Contact Steve at Mirada Fine Art.       © Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me for commission work. Laurie Sharing As much as I love my husband... I did not need him to share his cold and bronchitis with me.  Yesterday the cold hit in full force and I spent the day in bed. I am moving slowly this morning, but will not get to do much. Was suppose to finish painting for Denver and finish up a few more Jackson Hole Paintings. So this blog is very short. Sitting here the room is spinning. Think it is my stopped up ears.  It is also not fun because I do not take meds...strictly some Zinc, throat coat tea and I chew gum to try and pop my ears. Somehow we both have to be back on our feet in about three days to head in for the wedding. Please pray for our healing.  Obviously God wanted me to rest for awhile and that is my intent today. My plans are definitely not His plans right now....

Sunbathing Buffalo Abstract Painting by Texas Contemporary Artist Laurie Pace

Sunbathing Buffalo 24 x 36 inches  Oil on Canvas    © Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me to Purchase or for commission work: Laurie     The Sun Will Come Out I saw a sign at the Baptist Church when I drove Terry in to town yesterday for more medicine.  "The Lord Reigns and the Son Shines."   I took a liking to that; when I came home I had these buffalo sketched out on the canvas. Orginally there were more in the distance but once I had that phrase in mind the buffalo painting become three buffalo for symbolic representation of Father, Son and Holy Ghost.  The Son Shines... even in the painting! Yeah, that was corny but it was true.  This painting style and approach is like my Hidden in the Woods Painting for Denver.  I am not sure if this is Denver bound or Jackson bound. We had rain finally but not enough. I am grateful we maintained power through the storms.  Vicki phoned to report they...

BIg Wolf Wildlife Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Justus Pace

Big Wolf 30 x 40 inches  Oil on Canvas  Available: Laurie         ©Laurie Pace   Graphics One Design 1998-2011 He Follows You I finished up this wolf painting yesterday and enjoyed the results of my labor. Terry complained that the eyes of the wolf followed him around the room. The best part was when Paddy came in and lowered himself in a stance and began growling at it.  I knew I was done then.  Those brilliant eyes... they seem to capture you and follow you where ever you go. God follows you where ever you go as well.  His essence or spirit is within you, abiding within to empower you for God's good.  God knows what you will think before the thought even blooms in your head.  He knows what you need before you even realize it.  He does not really just follow you...rather He is leading you. You must be ready to follow Him. This weekend is the wine festival and Mayfair Art show here in Mt Vernon....

Abstract Wolf Painting Wildlife Art by Texas Contemporary Artist Laurie Pace

Progression on Big Wolf 20 x 30 x 2 inches  Oil on Canvas   I was working late again last night on Big Wolf. This wolf painting definitely has a strong sense of wild and with the palette knife work it becomes dimensionally coming off the canvas.   As I finish it up, it will ship to The Rare Gallery in Jackson Hole for their summer season. ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me for Commission Work. Laurie       Breath of God I am just in from sitting outside on the deck. I was up at six am awakened by the dogs stirring. Terry is still asleep. Ever since he cleaned up my studio on Sunday he has been hit hard with allergies from the dust and whatever else was out there. Sneezing and coughing.  I loaded him up with Benedryl last night as well as natural cough syrups, the same he used with his pneumonia last year.  Larry is down with bronchitis bordering pneumonia as well. His was from Lady L who had the cro...

Return of the Wolf Pack Abstract Wildlife Oil Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Return of the Wolf Pack 24 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas Available through The Rare Gallery. Email them here to purchase.   ©Laurie Pace     Graphics One Design 1998-2011  Details  Details       A Friend Smiles I was working hard in the studio yesterday finishing up this piece and working on the bear I began at the workshop.  The doorbell rang and it was Ann Morgan, one of the workshop attendees and now a new friend from across the lake. We were instantly talking about the workshop and about Jane, the wonderful artist from New Zealand.  Jane is an artist that is so respectful of mother-earth and all God has created.  The land is apart of Jane.  Her work celebrates the beauty and bounty of the Earth. When a friend smiles they share the bounty of life and love. Life is fuller with our friends. God give us boundless moments to enjoy our lives and everything surrounding us.  We are often too busy to even ...

Abstract Wolf Wildlife Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Progression on Return of the Wolf Pack 36 x 24 inches  Oil on Canvas This Wolf Oil Painting is for my Jackson Hole Gallery,  The RARE GALLERY. If you are interested in this painting you need to contact Hollee Armstrong .   ©Laurie Pace       Graphics One Design 1998-2011 The Midnight Hour It was near midnight when I stopped painting last night.  I was up about an hour ago but just now coming in to blog.  From workshop to Jackson Hole work this week and then to finish up the Denver work.  Add Morgan and Kelly's wedding to the mix and you have a busy May. This weekend here in Mt Vernon is Mayfair for the annual art show and a wine festival. We evidently have vineyards nearby that Terry and I have not explored. God's grace penetrates my mind in times like these. Seems like the plate is overfilled part with good things and part with busy work, but I find if I keep my eyes on Him and my heart open to Him, I will find my way.  I do...
