Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert and Shelia at the Southlake Lowe's in Appliances

They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. This is fresh like spring for me and lots of sunlight.  I mentioned yesterday I wanted to share about something that happened Saturday.  We were on our way to our grandson's baseball game and the sky was a beautiful blue and just a handful of clouds. I glanced up and was mesmerized by the clouds and the back lighting and contrast in several of them that were gathered together. Light playfully filtered through. I felt instant joy.  Let me type that again, I felt instant JOY.   We know God gives us challenges. We know He walks before us... with us... and guards behind us . That and only that has sustained us through the last two years marked beginning Oct 5, 2022.  From Oct to the end of Dec was a journey I care never to have again. © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 After the Afternoon Rains Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   My heart is breaking for all that were impacted by the hurricane.  Usually after regular rain, the sun comes out and there is still moisture in the air and everything seems to glow and glisten.  When I saw the shots of Asheville NC and the Artist's Studios under mud and water to the roofs ... my artist heart cannot even imagine.  Many of us do not know the physical devastation of events like this. Living in Texas and at one time about an hour or so from the coast in Nacogdoches for 18 years, we weathered many storms but nothing with devastation that hit Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.  We have friends in Tennessee but I have not heard if they were affected.  It would be awesome if Artists across the United States could come together and do what they did for Hawaii, only not an auction, just sell a painting and donate it to an arti

It was a commission for one of my collectors that already has several pieces.  Tiny Cactus Blooms.   This is almost like Christmas, isn't it?  I had much fun with this one. I need to get them to send me a hanging photo from their house. Looking back some of these look like green olives! 😜 The red and green are of course complimentary colors. the blue and orange are complimentary colors.  There is some purple woven in and some white.  I love working in color combinations! We have family and friends in this area. This painting was a more impressionistic piece than the Girl on Piano pieces from 2008-2010.  It is the tilt of the head and the precious lift of the hand with the outer small finger delicately angled. Not quite old enough to be using pedals, her feet are crossed below the bench. Back in the day of my lessons and playing in the late fifties and early sixties, young girls wore dresses. I miss those days. I still prefer dresses over pants today... even my studio jeans.  One of my modern girl on Piano pieces.... "Playing for Papa" These make incredible gifts for the holidays using music that is important to you or to the person receiving the gift.
