After the Afternoon Rains
Oil on Canvas  SOLD  by Laurie Pace

My heart is breaking for all that were impacted by the hurricane.  Usually after regular rain, the sun comes out and there is still moisture in the air and everything seems to glow and glisten.

When I saw the shots of Asheville NC and the Artist's Studios under mud and water to the roofs
... my artist heart cannot even imagine.  Many of us do not know the physical devastation of events like this. Living in Texas and at one time about an hour or so from the coast in Nacogdoches for 18 years, we weathered many storms but nothing with devastation that hit Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.  We have friends in Tennessee but I have not heard if they were affected.

It would be awesome if Artists across the United States could come together and do what they did for Hawaii, only not an auction, just sell a painting and donate it to an artist in need. Keep it simple.

Our God is an amazing God, and through my beliefs, we must find our way through all trials and remember He has this just like He does everything else in our lives.  The faster we can accept things as they are, trust God, and let go of the fear and sorrow, the sooner things begin to fall in place because of our trust in Him that He will see us through and we will be stronger. He is walking with us and He knows what you and I both need.

Saturday was  a special day. I will save it for the next blog. It was affected me since noon on Saturday... a gift for sure.

Last night we were welcomed to the congregation at Countryside Bible Church. It was an amazing service as normal and we were studying in 1 Peter. Pastor Josh was our membership leader when we did our classes for membership. He spoke last night of the conception of Jesus and His birth. Not exactly your everyday conversation.  He brought up many things we knew but had not thought about.  I am finding that is true in our daily lives. The Lord is working on our lives already knowing our stories.

I laugh as I remember my hubby's Dad, Ben Pace, always said, "You can get glad just like you got mad (or sad)."  He was deeply rooted in his faith and he carried  joy to every one in life and we rarely saw him angry or mad. Just was not who he was. Who are you? If you invest joy and love in your journey, it will be reflected back to you. Trust in our Father and He will get you where you are supposed to go. How the trip is made is up to you... greet this day with joy. Make this life journey with joy.  That is my hint into my next blog... the Saturday happening.

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
