"“The purest and most thoughtful minds are those which love color the most.” ― John Ruskin, The Stones of Venice

It is pretty obvious by my work that I love color. I have an addiction to color. That addiction means when I walk into a store with clothes... I only see color... not the actual dress, or shirt, or coat. It really is detrimental to my budget. I am successfully working on this shopping addiction to color. When the closet has six black sweaters, four green ones, four white ones, two grey ones, one red one, one orange one, one rose colored one and two navy blue ones... uh oh....and you see it happening with tops and sweats too.

QUESTION:
What do you think happens when I walk into an art store and the stimulation is OFF THE CHARTS....?

You and I live in a world seemingly bent on getting our immediate wants and desires. Our lives are filled with with it so much, somethings become full addictions. Thankfully, God’s word is where we can find the encouragement and strength to overcome these cravings. Bible verses provide inspiration to overcoming the power of addiction and temptation with the faith and spirit of the Lord.

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." 1 Corinthians 10:13

So how are you living life? Addiction can sneak in on you in many places... it could be food, television, video games, shopping, or even too many tubes of paints... in beautiful colors.  (I get excited going to Sherwin Williams and always bring home lots of color brochures... even though I own two color wheels of all their paint colors.)

Where do you tend to go overboard? In this day most of us are all facing cutbacks in our budgets with inflation as high as it is.  So, maybe it is time to simplify our lives.  During our current kitchen update, it has given us time to downsize from all the extra 'stuff' we have in all the cabinets and the pantry. (two blenders for example) I also cleaned up and out the studio last week and am painting again.  In the closet I am still culling out clothes I do not wear. Now, if only I could get hubby to do it with me!   Let me know how you are doing as you look at your life.

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
