The Painting: Done in 2006 when Morgan was doing his Flag Series a collector asked for a "Peter Max" type flag and this piece was created. Morgan does 99 percent of the flags here. They are collected around the world. His most sought after had the pledge of allegiance on them.
The Thought: It is always hard on the blog to pin point the exact days. This is read by many of you on Saturday if you come directly to the blog. For others it is mailed out to be received for Sunday. So I chose to post the flag knowing that the majority of you would get this flag on the fourth of July, Saturday... for those getting it Sunday... freedom lives on.
Freedom is something we all seek in our lives. Freedom from rules; freedom from debt; freedom from responsibilities; freedom from the sins of our past; freedom to live our lives as we want to; freedom to have a day off on occasion; the list could keep on for hours.
Our freedom lies with in our faith. In Him we are free. No one can destroy your faith and freedom in God unless you allow them too. Set yourself free today from whatever is on your list. Give your mind and thoughts to Him. He does not want you to be burdened in your life. We do it all to ourselves complicating every day with more "stuff". He doesn't need the stuff, nor do we.
Give up the wants and concentrate on your needs.
