The Painting: A collector bought a smaller painting from me, the Red Arabian but realized it was not big enough for her home...hence we had to do something larger. She gave me her house colors and copper was important and voila, Copper Lady.
The Thought: Some days it makes more sense to climb back in bed and hide under the covers. Some days I ask myself why I even climbed out in the first place. I often wonder about adulthood and all the responsibilities attached to it. You think as you grow older you grow wiser and you recognize when to say no and step away from things. You want freedom from so much responsibility. You remember though that Jesus did not step away from what was ahead of Him. He didn't stop and ask himself, "why did you even get up this morning."
All around us in our lives are fear, anxiety, and guilt... topped off by all the jobs, chores and pressures we add to the mix. We slip into self-indulgent living and fail to recognize the loss of freedom with the new attitude. We boast ownership over "stuff" that God has entrusted to us during our earthly journey.
You might have the best of everything, or nothing at all. You might have a schedule packed with chores and errands, or you might be at home alone and depressed. No matter where you are, your only freedom is in your soul. Freedom does not give any of us the right to do what we want all the time, but it given by Him for us to do what pleases God. By using this freedom to serve others in love, we serve the Lord.
You are free to give His love to others today.
