The Dark of Day

“Keep your face always toward the sunshine - and shadows will fall behind you.”  Walt Whitman

Some mornings I think my head is going to explode if the TV is on and hubby is watching it... all the 'news' of the day, or should I say yesterday or last week. He watches You-tube for news. ??  Anyone can say anything and put it up on you-tube. Actually any newscaster can create a factious story and put it on the 'regular' news.

I have been overfilled with politics already and we are not even in the last stretch of the election for Nov 2020.  The media has the world painted black as doomsday between the ongoing negative rhetoric of the sky is falling and our nation is failing. Only a few politicians and leaders speak with a kind heart and bring positive changes.

There is too much darkness and negativity. We do not need it in our lives. There is a balance of reality and the light of HOPE and our Lord who goes before us and is with us always.

I do believe I fell under the doomsday effect the past two months with personal things in our extended family and in the world from one event to another and the worst they can make it seem, the more they control you and me.  No more here. My dad's voice is calling to me...

  • "You have the power to change inside of you."
  • Make smiling a habit.  Make it genuine.
  • Make speaking kindly to others constant. Make it genuine.
  • Look for the best in those you love.  Make it genuine.
  • Remember how to laugh?  Laugh at yourself first.
  • Help someone in need.  Do it with a kind heart.
  • Shine your light on others and it will be from your heart and genuine.  Others will then shine their light on to more people.

The darkness will lift as you push it out of your life.  God is shining his light upon you and me... turn away from the darkness and walk toward him.   Will you join me?  Deep breath in... and let it out slowly.  Drink a glass of water now... and deep breath in and out again.

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
