“Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.” ― Rabindranath Tagore, Stray Birds

This was a commissioned painting back in Spring 2013.  I have not painted many sailboats lately and probably will do one soon.  These are the colors chosen by the collector, and they are indeed bright forceful beautiful basic colors, but my palette has been changing. Happens to all of us.  Still not a big champion of yellow, but suddenly I am thinking muted reds, blues, greens and greys.  I believe my next sunset will be drastically different from this one.

"Color" in your life should change.  If you stay stagnant you are not growing. Change is a huge part of growth. But they are not the same, change and growth.

Change could mean a turnaround in your life or a single event like marriage, job loss, divorce, a new baby. Change can be negative or positive. It can come from within you or by forces outside of you.

Growth takes time. Usually change happens quickly. Growth is an incremental process and it needs motivation from within you to continue the growth.

Facing challenges and changes will promote growth in your life. God does it all the time if you have not noticed.  Those mountains look higher every time one is in front of us. The depth and challenges God puts in front of us are usually hard, unwanted, and seemingly untimely but he is strengthening us for what is ahead in life.

I love this verse in Exodus.  The Israelites are in battle. If Moses holds his hands up in the air...they are winning, but if he lowers his hands they are losing.  When they figured this out, they had to help Moses keep his hands up until sunset for them to be victorious.

So amidst the change and growth it is evident we need people that care around us.  It is important in life to serve others when you can and know through your faith, God will provide when you are in need.

"When Moses' hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up  - one on one side, one on the other - so that his hands remained steady till sunset." Exodus 17:12

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
