This painting "Under Texas Stars" is one I totally forgot about having the deep blue backgrounds.  I painted this in 2014 and it sold immediately after I placed it on my website.  Texas is a wide open state with a few glitches called Dallas, Ft Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Houston etc.  Those big cities are so bright they often outshine the stars where it is nothing but city lights.  The night sky in Texas is incredible. The stars seem brighter and larger than anywhere despite being further south!

When we lived at the lake, I have shared often the peace of the night sky and NO airplanes overhead.

"But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come." John 16:13

I needed this verse tonight. Here it is just after 6 pm... and I am blogging. I feel a bit defeated due to 'not thinking things through' and being pressured to feel like I needed to do something today that took up 5 hours of my day, just to delete it all two hours after that.  The Spirit in the verse I was given... is the Holy Spirit, the balance of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, the three in one.
Given to Us

The Holy Spirit is given to us and then we are never alone. The spirit is our personal connection to the Father. This gift was actually given by God to every believer—providing the very presence of God living inside each of us, giving us the blessed assurance of His constant presence with in us. The hard part, we are all too engaged in life, social media, our jobs, and the computers and TVs to be aware of this great gift.

The Holy Spirit is truly our “Helper” and as I mentioned above, the third person of the Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

How can you receive him? How do you get Him to be with you through all?   When you profess your belief in His son, Jesus, you are given this great gift of the Holy Spirit... He is living in you and there remains a constant connection between you and the Father.

Pretty sure it was obvious when Jesus left this earth, there had to be something to knit us together with the Father.  We would be truly lost, almost happening today with a large percentage no longer believers.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

“In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14

I came across an article that shared the ways the Holy Spirit works in us every single day. The only way it fails, is if you are not connected to the Father or the Son. It is like having an open circuit board not connected in the line of power. I rewrote my thoughts and split up the content making it easy to follow.

The Holy Spirit will purify you.
“For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.” Romans 8:13 ESV  Simple to understand. We are all sucked in by the 'charms' of this life on earth.

The Holy Spirit will empower you.
"You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and the ends of the earth."  Acts 1:8  We should lead by example in our lives to those that know us. Through our faith we can teach and reach them about the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit reveals to you.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” John 14:26

If we are indeed children of God, The Holy Spirit helps us know God truly abides in us and we must abide in Him. The Holy Spirit will guide and direct us, and through his actions He assures us and helps each of us grow closer each day to Him, as we learn more about God, our Father.

The Holy Spirit will Gift you.

The Holy Spirit also reveals himself through the spiritual gifts he gives each believer. 1 Corinthians 12: 7-11  This is one to think about. We know the gifts of the spirit, which are yours?

The Holy Spirit Unifies us all together.

“So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.” Philippians 2:1-2

We are told of the coming of the Holy Spirit... It was Jesus that emphasized, “I must go, so He can come John 16:7
All through John Chapter 14-16, the Holy Spirit's work in us and through us is described in detail. In Luke the Holy Spirit dwells in Jesus, Luke 4:14, 18

Jesus told His disciples, "I will send Him unto you" John 16:7  and "He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." John 14:17 And in Luke 24:1-53 more is found.

It is the greatest gift we have with in us.  It is the power from God through the Holy Spirit. It is then the Holy Spirit who imparts life to us and makes us “new creatures in Christ."

Mixed Media Collage Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Justus Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Horse Collage Fall 2013  12 x 18 inches Mixed Media on Canvas.  This was an intentional paint to imitate one of the 100 ponies I did in 2012. That poor little 8 x 10 pony was loved by a company to do very large prints and it was not here for me to even use to scan... so I created something with the same heart, a kindred spirit. The underlays are pages from a western book and then torn papers of different varieties were added along with stains of paint and purposeful areas of paint.  This would not be a painting I would do today, but the goal was to capture the spirit of the first painting. Laurie     © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Website   Thinking ahead to the Thanksgiving celebration next week, I remembered back to those previous dinners that I cooked, served, ate quickly, and cleaned up.  This is how I felt.  It is probably strange...even for me but I had the best fun sketching it out and painting it. We lost another dear family member this week. She has celebrated her 'continuation' day and is now with her mom and dad and her other cousins.  She leaves behind a family that will always celebrate her gentleness.  My aunt was special to all of us. She loved each of us dearly for who we were and was always ready with a hug or a 'good job'.    My memories are of breakfast pastries smeared with butter on top. It was not like they were not sweet enough as they were, but at her small kitch...

My life has the tendency to fall apart when I'm awake, you know?” Ernest Hemingway  I really enjoyed painting this scene. It was restful to me as the artist  and loved by our friends.  Sunday is the day of rest. I smiled when I found this in archives and thought it perfect for this day.  If you live in Texas you know that we still have 'rules' about not selling liquor before noon.  If you live in Texas and are in your late thirties and up, you might even remember Blue Laws.   Stores were simply NOT open...
