I did find the final photo of the bubble Horses!   It originally went to a show at Mirada in Denver but traveled to California and sold from The La Jolla Gallery back four years ago.

Layers of color and overlays create the entire painting, keeping part of the realism and loosing it to abstract shapes throughout.  I always find the sooner I drop trying to control a painting's direction, the better it is.

Let's get one commissioned for you and your home!  The True Original Painted Ponies!

Deuteronomy 4:39-40
New King James Version

"Therefore know this day, and consider it in your heart, that the Lord Himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other.  You shall therefore keep His statutes and His commandments which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which the Lord your God is giving you for all time."

It has been a rough month with vertigo coming on a second time.  I know why... after I thought I was good... I removed the 'sleep on a slanted pillow 60 degrees' for at least a few weeks." and found out...  two days was not enough. ðŸ˜‚

This Sunday has been blessed to be better. The past four weeks found me in a 'strange place' of quietness. There was nothing I could do to battle and rise up against it and force my way through, which is pretty normal for me. (thankful for a husband that took the best care of me!)

Sometimes we are pushed to that breaking point in life, but we do it to ourselves. Truly I have only control of a few things in life, but I used to try often to control other people and any situation I could grab hold of.  I grew up wanting to 'fix' everything for everyone.  Only God can do that. Silly me... waiting till this late in life to figure it out. I knew I had very little I could do but to be patient to make it through this month and the rest of my life.  Two days ago, I felt pretty low... I just wanted to have some improvement. I was not sleeping well... and sadness crept in. I stayed in prayer. Constant.

When I woke up this morning, I had enough energy and climb in the shower and washed my hair!!! YES!!  God is good.

Remember there is no "other" than GOD in control.  If we keep His commandments, things will go good with us. We may have to go through those deep valleys but He is right next to us...  and He is also walking before us, helping us through to the next steps in our journey.  He knows what we each need, and there are times in our lives, He slows us down that we might stop and regroup our heart and our thoughts and get ourselves back on the right path, the one He has chosen for us, not the one we believe we must have.

Remember being a kid?  We have a strong drive to do things our way and Mom and Dad have to throw on the brakes to curb our growing power of life? Seems to me the sooner we learn to not react with hateful words, challenging words, fists, ugliness and that mean determination to be the one on top... the "winner", we realize that we are actually the loser when we force ourselves on others.

All the way through Deuteronomy, God  asks us to keep His statutes and His commandments. and if we do, we will find it will go well for us and for our children after us.  We must teach them His expectations.  We must learn to keep His statutes in our hearts, our homes and our lives.

Mixed Media Collage Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Justus Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Horse Collage Fall 2013  12 x 18 inches Mixed Media on Canvas.  This was an intentional paint to imitate one of the 100 ponies I did in 2012. That poor little 8 x 10 pony was loved by a company to do very large prints and it was not here for me to even use to scan... so I created something with the same heart, a kindred spirit. The underlays are pages from a western book and then torn papers of different varieties were added along with stains of paint and purposeful areas of paint.  This would not be a painting I would do today, but the goal was to capture the spirit of the first painting. Laurie     © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Website   Thinking ahead to the Thanksgiving celebration next week, I remembered back to those previous dinners that I cooked, served, ate quickly, and cleaned up.  This is how I felt.  It is probably strange...even for me but I had the best fun sketching it out and painting it. We lost another dear family member this week. She has celebrated her 'continuation' day and is now with her mom and dad and her other cousins.  She leaves behind a family that will always celebrate her gentleness.  My aunt was special to all of us. She loved each of us dearly for who we were and was always ready with a hug or a 'good job'.    My memories are of breakfast pastries smeared with butter on top. It was not like they were not sweet enough as they were, but at her small kitch...

My life has the tendency to fall apart when I'm awake, you know?” Ernest Hemingway  I really enjoyed painting this scene. It was restful to me as the artist  and loved by our friends.  Sunday is the day of rest. I smiled when I found this in archives and thought it perfect for this day.  If you live in Texas you know that we still have 'rules' about not selling liquor before noon.  If you live in Texas and are in your late thirties and up, you might even remember Blue Laws.   Stores were simply NOT open...
