California Dreaming... on a winters day.  With the temps in the 100's, I would be California Dreaming on a hot Texas summer day!

These are hot red poppies done in a pop art type fashion with color steaming from the canvas!  I have been thinking about painting flowers this next week, and posting this older painting made me hungry to do it!  Poppies are one flower I have never planted.  Might be too hot in Texas.  We have hydrangeas, iris, zinnia, marigolds, roses, dahlias, and more!  Right now only the marigolds are hanging in the heat but fading rapidly.

On another side, I will share that I just finished a few weeks of study in Hebrews and have started in Romans.  Not using any study guide... just reading and cross referencing verses. Some nights it has brought me to tears, other nights to my knees, and turning into bed each night, I have a fullness in my heart.  With the urging of our first cousin, John Ford Coley, I ordered the Chamash, The Strong Edition and will be starting that with the Old Testament (Hebrew and English). Having trouble finding the Tanakh for the New Testament. I read just the forward and the first 10 verses in Genesis and literally was amazed how the translation was deeper and more beautiful than what I was accustomed to in my NIV or our King James Bibles. Would love to hear some comments back if you have any!

"For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that." —1 Timothy 6:7-8

Sunlit Bowl

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Sunlit Bowl Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   A Painting of soft pink and white flowers   created in 2013 brings back memories of living at Lake Cypress Springs. I loved it there. It did not love me!  Mold was my downfall.  I was prolific at painting there with my studio looking over the waters of a large catfish pond and Lake Cypress Springs. The mold pushed us back to DRY Dallas.  God guides our path today.  Memories are flooding in with the morning sun.  Proverbs 4:18    “ The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”  Today will be over 100 degrees but by Saturday the high is 79. Weather is the main talk these days. Remember I am in Texas.   We heard they may get snow in the Ohio River Valley. We are to see storms from the Pacific Hurricane coming our directio...
A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...
