My Favorite Appaloosa Painting

Some paintings become old friends. This Appaloosa, painted years ago while I lived at Lake Cypress Springs, found its way back into my hands this week and reminded me why I fell in love with painting horses in the first place.
As artists, we often look backward to move forward. Studying older work can reveal forgotten color combinations, fresh ideas, and even the confidence to begin again. Looking at this painting, I was reminded that color has always been my language.
The past few months have been a season of healing. This week I reached a small but meaningful milestone, and with it came the realization that perhaps my path back to the easel is closer than I imagined.
There is something about revisiting an old favorite that has stirred new inspiration.
I hope you'll stop by my Studio Stories blog to see the Appaloosa painting, read the full story behind it, and discover why this old painting feels so new once again.
