Flowers in the Air
Oil on Canvas SOLD by Laurie Pace
While allowing a recent horse painting to rest, I revisited one of my favorite abstract floral works, Flowers in the Air, Flowers Everywhere. Created entirely with a palette knife, this piece explores movement, color, and layered texture in a bold and expressive way.
The eye is drawn first to the red flowers, then carried through the painting by sweeping strokes of blue, green, and black. Rather than relying on structured lines, the composition is built through motion and repetition, keeping the viewer engaged within the surface of the painting.
With thick, sculptural layers of paint and strong directional pulls, this piece reflects the energy and rhythm that color alone can create. It’s a painting that invites you to pause, explore, and feel—whether that brings a sense of calm or a spark of energy.
