Hope, Waiting, and Abiding in Him

“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in Him.”
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.
It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”
— Lamentations 3:24–26

Today my Inspirations App opened with Lamentations 3:24–26, and as I reflected on it, Pastor Ken shared a powerful reminder that Abraham and Lot chose their areas of land and Lot had first choice but not long term vision and it all was a bad ending.  Abraham's thoughts were for an area that echos Hebrews 11:10... "A city which has foundations whose builder and maker is God."  Abraham was envisioning what was needed longterm.

This created the thoughts following.

How is your personal foundation?  We often we find ourselves in seasons where choices have to be made. In those moments, our direction and answers can only come through patience and listening for the Lord’s voice in our lives. God has to be the foundation of your being, your heart and your life. Waiting, watching, and abiding in Him is essential. To abide means to wait for, endure, sustain, and remain without giving in to the pressures of this world. When we truly abide with God, we remain close to Him. He hears our thoughts, knows our hearts, and understands us better than we understand ourselves.

God allows us to endure trials and grow stronger through every need we face. Sometimes abiding requires quiet—resting, waiting, and trusting that God is at work even when we cannot see it.

Galatians 2:20 reminds us that our lives are no longer our own; Christ lives in us, and we live by faith in Him.

I am Grateful for Daily Encouragement!

I want to acknowledge Pastor Ken and the JoyVerse community, along with their daily app at dailybible.co. This is how I start each morning—then continue with my own reading to deepen the message and explore the richness of God’s Word. (Bible Hub)
When we wait quietly, abide faithfully, and hope confidently, God will strengthen us. He is always at work, even in the waiting.  Elle

I loved it there. It did not love me!  Mold was my downfall.  I was prolific at painting there with my studio looking over the waters of a large catfish pond and Lake Cypress Springs. The mold pushed us back to DRY Dallas.  God guides our path today.  Memories are flooding in with the morning sun.  Proverbs 4:18    “ The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”  Today will be over 100 degrees but by Saturday the high is 79. Weather is the main talk these days. Remember I am in Texas.   We heard they may get snow in the Ohio River Valley. We are to see storms from the Pacific Hurricane coming our directio...

Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...
