Yellow Rose
Oil on Canvas  SOLD  by Laurie Pace

Yellow Rose - The Texas state flower is the bluebonnet but the Yellow Rose of Texas is the song!!!  Where did that come from? It became popular during the U.S. Civil War, especially among cavalry men from the south and from Texas.

"There's a yellow rose in Texas, I'm going there to see,
No other Feller knows her, Nobody known to me.
She cried so when I left her, It's like to broke my heart,
And if we ever meet again, We'd never walk apart.

|Chorus:She's the sweetest little rosebud, That Texas ever knew,
Her eyes are bright as diamonds, They sparkle like the dew;
You may talk about your Clementine, And sing of Rosalee,
But the Yellow Rose of Texas, Is the only gal for me.:|

When the Rio Grande is flowing, The stars are shining bright,
She walked along the river, On a quiet summer night:
She said if you'll remember, We parted long ago,
I promised to come back again, And not to leave her so.

|:She's the sweetest little rosebud... :|

Now I'm going back to find her, My heart is full of woe,
We'll sing the songs together, We sang so long ago
I'll play my bango gaily, And sing the songs of yore,
the Yellow Rose of Texas, will be mine forevermore.

|:She's the sweetest little rosebud... :|"

Sunlit Bowl

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Sunlit Bowl Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   A Painting of soft pink and white flowers   created in 2013 brings back memories of living at Lake Cypress Springs. I loved it there. It did not love me!  Mold was my downfall.  I was prolific at painting there with my studio looking over the waters of a large catfish pond and Lake Cypress Springs. The mold pushed us back to DRY Dallas.  God guides our path today.  Memories are flooding in with the morning sun.  Proverbs 4:18    “ The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”  Today will be over 100 degrees but by Saturday the high is 79. Weather is the main talk these days. Remember I am in Texas.   We heard they may get snow in the Ohio River Valley. We are to see storms from the Pacific Hurricane coming our directio...
A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...
