Saturday evening and a late blog. The day has been filled with thunder and rain all day. West of us has had 15-19 inches and I am positive some flooding. We were to get more tonight but it looks like it shifted further south. Was hoping at least!   So this morning with the rain and thunder right out side my north two large windows... I watched the rain fall between my trellis of Passion vines... I continued to paint on this piece above and it is now almost done.   You can see from this photo in progress how I grid out to make sure the horses are in my sketch in the correct position.  I know it looks off as I had to pull it to fit in the frame... but they were all straight.  Photo foran almost finished piece tomorrow or Monday.

Have a beautiful rest of the weekend. Not sure what tomorrow brings yet, but praying for a good night sleep tonight. This is late for me to be writing a blog!  Elle

That poor little 8 x 10 pony was loved by a company to do very large prints and it was not here for me to even use to scan... so I created something with the same heart, a kindred spirit. The underlays are pages from a western book and then torn papers of different varieties were added along with stains of paint and purposeful areas of paint.  This would not be a painting I would do today, but the goal was to capture the spirit of the first painting. We lost another dear family member this week. She has celebrated her 'continuation' day and is now with her mom and dad and her other cousins.  She leaves behind a family that will always celebrate her gentleness.  My aunt was special to all of us. She loved each of us dearly for who we were and was always ready with a hug or a 'good job'.    My memories are of breakfast pastries smeared with butter on top. It was not like they were not sweet enough as they were, but at her small kitch...
