Greeting the Day

Nothing like a good stretch every morning.  This was a commissioned horse painting, 18 x 27 inches in size. I had chills when I opened the file to add it to my blog this morning. Can you feel the power of my palette knife??  I am currently working with a brush on a large 36 x 36 canvas.   The next painting will bring me back to my knife!

Romans 10:9-10 "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 

I cannot believe it is Friday.  I have been focused this week and the past year on a situation that still has no ending at this time. There were others responsible for what occurred and it affected a close family member in a very negative way. I pray for your safety, and for you to give your heart to God, learn about His never-ending Love, His generous mercy and His forgiveness.   Elle

That poor little 8 x 10 pony was loved by a company to do very large prints and it was not here for me to even use to scan... so I created something with the same heart, a kindred spirit. The underlays are pages from a western book and then torn papers of different varieties were added along with stains of paint and purposeful areas of paint.  This would not be a painting I would do today, but the goal was to capture the spirit of the first painting. We lost another dear family member this week. She has celebrated her 'continuation' day and is now with her mom and dad and her other cousins.  She leaves behind a family that will always celebrate her gentleness.  My aunt was special to all of us. She loved each of us dearly for who we were and was always ready with a hug or a 'good job'.    My memories are of breakfast pastries smeared with butter on top. It was not like they were not sweet enough as they were, but at her small kitch...
