"Intent"
Oil on Canvas  SOLD  by Laurie Pace

This is a throw back to 2010, 15 years ago, an unusual horse painting with a touch of realism and not palette knife.  This painting has a mystery to it and it lures the eye in for discovery over the surfaces of the horse's face. We were living in Dallas in our "Frank Lloyd Wright" inspired home and I had a huge studio that was 24 x 24 ft.  (Never had it so good!!!  Had a sink for washing brushes in and I loved it the almost three years we lived there. The photo below is the room but the people after us used it as another living area.  Here is the Zillow Link. The kitchen is as we did it, and flooring was solid wood and beautiful... we had that put in. We replaced ALL the windows in the house. Some one before us took out a circular fireplace in the front living room. IT is worth a peak! Click the photo.)

This was an art studio years ago.

Matthew 7:13-14
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

As I read this Bible passage it triggers memories of going to the State Fair of Texas as a kid.  There where entrances where large and masses of people could buy their ticket and enter the fair grounds. There was SO MUCH TO see! Lines were long at the rides and people raced to see exhibits and rides and food... it was all there. My friends and I had 'Fair Day' tickets and had the day off from school. We rode the bus from our location to the Fair.

There was always one place that was not blocked by long lines. When I was young I did not always know what was what in the exhibitions. The one I entered alone that day was the Woman's Exhibit where there was Quilt competition and other things like Needlepoint and Cross Stitch as well as food competition for pickles and pies!  The noise level was gentle in the building, the faces of those that entered always had smiles and eagerness in their eyes.  Some Dads and Husbands even were smiling knowing how important this was to the women in their lives. My grandmother taught me to knit, cross stitch and I watched her quilt and sew from the time I was about three until she passed in 1975 when I was pregnant with my first child.  Her quilts blessed my Mother's home and of course my home, and now my children's homes. We want to bless others always.

May seem like a stretch but when you read the Bible verse above.... the small gate is the entrance of Heaven. The large open gate with masses of people going through with a path leading to destruction, pain, drugs, drinking, gambling ... and many more things that we know are 'vices' leads you to the Lake of Fire with the noise and the colorful lure and everyone racing to jump in. We all have a choice to follow the teachings and the word of God while serving others in our earthly journey.  We will pass through that narrow small gate to Heaven. If you live your life with the massive enticements of the world you will never see that narrow gate.

What is your "Intent"?

Have a blessed day this Sunday. I am up early but already dressed for the day. We celebrated Hubby's birthday yesterday with our family and all the grandchildren were there. It was a beautiful day. Elle

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
