Warmth With the Sun


Touching up Color on this beautiful horse painting! I began this piece last fall and it hung around in the studio till yesterday and I opened my attack bringing it to life with color.  That is what propels my painting... Color.  She is a unique horse and loves to play in the light of the sun every day. I do believe that is why the glimmers of color in the painting bring forth the beauty in this contemporary horse painting!

Romans 8:11 "If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you." 

What is incredible about having a growing faith and trust in God is brought to life through trials and temptations. Our family has been under many pressures and trials in the past 18 months.  We are learning we have to live our lives with trust in the Lord as He leads the way and we leave the worry with Him and abide in His love. That is the most difficult lesson to let go and let God.  My hear echos of my mother back 50 years ago tell me those words, "Let go and let God."  It seems really hard to do it at times, but it does bring you peace and calm.   Elle

That poor little 8 x 10 pony was loved by a company to do very large prints and it was not here for me to even use to scan... so I created something with the same heart, a kindred spirit. The underlays are pages from a western book and then torn papers of different varieties were added along with stains of paint and purposeful areas of paint.  This would not be a painting I would do today, but the goal was to capture the spirit of the first painting. We lost another dear family member this week. She has celebrated her 'continuation' day and is now with her mom and dad and her other cousins.  She leaves behind a family that will always celebrate her gentleness.  My aunt was special to all of us. She loved each of us dearly for who we were and was always ready with a hug or a 'good job'.    My memories are of breakfast pastries smeared with butter on top.
