Reflections of Early Sunrise
Oil on Canvas  SOLD  by Laurie Pace

Good morning from Reflections of Early Sunrise!  It is one of those cloudy mornings when the light filters through leaving a purple early morning haze as the clouds scurry across the fields.  Working with uneven numbers in horses is an eye catcher in this composition. This was part of my summer series of small horse paintings back in 2016, almost 10 years ago.

Romans 8:11 "If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you."

Our Church, Countryside Bible Church has Passion Week Verses to read. " Wednesday is the Day of SilenceWhile nothing is recorded of Jesus’ actions on Wednesday, there are related events unfolding...read more. "

From my personal Readings this morning " In the center of all your trouble, you can find your strength.  Through praise, devotion, and prayer , you'll step into God's high tower. Then the darkness that surrounds you will turn away and flee. Turn to God. He stand ready to help you in your distress.   By John Michalak

I have become less focused on worry or planning ahead of time or when conflicted with a happening in our family. As a mom I always want to have a 'figured out answer' to solve or resolve a situation be it personal or within our family. Us Moms really do a great job at this. In truth we need to live our life in joy and praise resting in God and not waste time and worry trying to figure it all out.  In the writing, John Michalak speaks of Saul's men trying to kill David, who cried out loudly like any of us might do in a bad situation. Hey Lord, why me??? The difference is never loosing that connection with the Father. He is our refuge ALL the time.  He is the almighty. He does not want us worrying or scheming or trying to force things that are not in His plan.  I am ever so guilty of this.

Only through Him will we find peace.

Mixed Media Collage Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Justus Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Horse Collage Fall 2013  12 x 18 inches Mixed Media on Canvas.  This was an intentional paint to imitate one of the 100 ponies I did in 2012. That poor little 8 x 10 pony was loved by a company to do very large prints and it was not here for me to even use to scan... so I created something with the same heart, a kindred spirit. The underlays are pages from a western book and then torn papers of different varieties were added along with stains of paint and purposeful areas of paint.  This would not be a painting I would do today, but the goal was to capture the spirit of the first painting. Laurie     © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Website   Thinking ahead to the Thanksgiving celebration next week, I remembered back to those previous dinners that I cooked, served, ate quickly, and cleaned up.  This is how I felt.  It is probably strange...even for me but I had the best fun sketching it out and painting it. We lost another dear family member this week. She has celebrated her 'continuation' day and is now with her mom and dad and her other cousins.  She leaves behind a family that will always celebrate her gentleness.  My aunt was special to all of us. She loved each of us dearly for who we were and was always ready with a hug or a 'good job'.    My memories are of breakfast pastries smeared with butter on top. It was not like they were not sweet enough as they were, but at her small kitch...

My life has the tendency to fall apart when I'm awake, you know?” Ernest Hemingway  I really enjoyed painting this scene. It was restful to me as the artist  and loved by our friends.  Sunday is the day of rest. I smiled when I found this in archives and thought it perfect for this day.  If you live in Texas you know that we still have 'rules' about not selling liquor before noon.  If you live in Texas and are in your late thirties and up, you might even remember Blue Laws.   Stores were simply NOT open...
