“Life is not a matter of holding good cards, but sometimes, playing a poor hand as well.”
― Jack London

This was a unique horse painting and I believe I only did two or three different sizes. One larger painting went to Australia, that was similar.  It begins with prayer always for me not to be in the way of the spirit moving my touch as I paint on that canvas.  I had the canvas flat on the table and a brush in hand... not a knife. I began applying paints and was not worried if they ran or overlapped.  No preconception of what would be where. (You saw this on yesterday's painting I shared, the bottom layers of acrylic paint.)  Usually you will find me turning the canvas on the easel from horizontal to vertical to inverted and back. Always I see horses.  (One day I want to do a child!) This horse raising his head was right there before me and that was the direction I pushed.

Do You Pray Before Doing Things?

Before embarking on any day, any new endeavor, or any painting, I firmly believe in the open relationship I have with the Lord to seek His divine guidance through prayer. It is imperative for me to back off and detach my own desires and aspirations, ensuring that I open myself up to God's influence and direction through the Holy Spirit that abides with in me. Bowing my head and humbly asking for His guidance brings me peace and clarity, acknowledging His wisdom far surpasses my own no matter what is ahead. By offering my intentions to Him, I am surrendering control and allowing His will to prevail in my life.  I know His plans for me are far greater than anything I could conceive. Does this work every time? If it does not, it is because I have taken back control in what ever work, mission, or painting I am working at.

If you can make this act of humble surrender, you will find strength, courage, and reassurance that you are on the right path.

"I can do all things through him who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13 ESV
