4000 Blogs as of today.

Today is my 4000th blog since I began in 2007.  I was clicking on NEW POST and I saw that pop up and decided it is worth celebrating.

I am here to tell my stories and yours as well, through my painting. Color is the heartbeat of my work, but I have painted just as many quiet pieces to balance them out.

HERE you can click through to see some of my pieces hanging in homes. THE LOOK BOOK

Here are some unusual ones from the past: (ENJOY)

Reunion, International Art Show Best of Show. 2002

Between Two Points, International Art Show Best of Show. 2004

I loved my four month dabbling with contemporary pieces... These are just two of them and the stories they tell would make you smile!
The painting below was called REFLECTIONS and it sold the first day I added to my blog, from the blog! In those days we had Paypal buttons attached to things.

This was the original painted pony from a off balanced nude in a towel. The first one sold for a solid high four figures in late 2006 to a gallery owner in the United Kingdom.
The next two above and below, were from the same time period in 2008. The one above was The Herd and I cannot remember what I called the red horse, but it has remained a favorite of mine over the years. I love the color and the story behind it. The abstraction and yet still a horse.

I could dig through thousands of paintings. I am guessing from 2002 up to 2010, I was painting an average of six pieces a week and they were all 24 x 36 and larger up to 3 ft by 4 ft.   That would be approximately 2800 paintings over that period.  Terry had to box them... he can tell you many stories, including the night we had 7 paintings to ship Fedex and on the way to Fedex on a major highway... a red light... an 18 wheeler asleep at the wheel... rammed about 8 cars at a light coming down a hill at 70 miles an hour.  My little German Passat had some damage we were car three out of the 8... Terry saw it happening behind us and pulled on the Emergency brake and stood on our brakes saying HOLD ON BRACE YOURSELF.  All paintings were safe and mailed after we finished at the Emergency Room.

LIFE AS AN ARTIST continues....

After we moved to the lake, I painted many 100 piece summers for small ones, did commissions every month through the years and gallery sales from The Rare Gallery in Jackson Hole, Two Park Cities Galleries, La Jolla Art Gallery, Mirada Fine Art, Kasum Contemporary, The Dutch Art Gallery, The Bereskin Gallery in Iowa and a beautiful art gallery in Penn Yan, New York. OH YES... and a gallery in Santa Fe, no longer there, sold quite a few pieces, the owner fell sick and left the country, and one of my favorite pieces was 'given' or 'taken away.  There was also a gallery in Singapore, and one in Hong Kong, ... and there was on in the UK that they bought and sold pieces from me.

The commissions over the years have been world wide, with a large amount to Dubai, Australia, the UK, Singapore, Canada and the US. Down at the bottom of this blog are all the places I have shipped work.

The painting that stirred a large following was The Good People painting, which was created for an architect in Chicago.  Since that time I have only done similar pieces and kept it at 10 total... not the same but similar. Jack Johnson inspired those pieces. "Where did all the good people go?" This one was called The Wanderers.  There is a large 60 x 90 for sale on my website!  It is the last one that will be painted.  If you think you want it, please use my contact me form and let me know. I will price it special for you! It is the last of the GOOD PEOPLE. Highly collectible.

The Thought:  Our youngest daughter is still very ill.   I am pumping her full of fruit and juices, mucinex and tylenol etc but it is not a positive thing right now. Does not look like we will make my older daughter's house for Thanksgiving.  I am sad because there will be new family to be attending along with everyone that has NOT been together since the dea
