"This painting was created when we lived in Justin, Texas about 20 years ago.  I remember it was either 24 x 30 or 30 x 40 inches. It sold immediately because of the BLUES! It was a style I focused on for about six months and fell into knifing things about this time. Should I do more like this one?

BLUE DAYS ... BLUE DAZE?

It has been cold, cloudy and bordering on bitter in the early mornings. I found myself today cleaning up the studio and preparing to prepare. I am going to kick off early tonight and start working on our Christmas cards.

The past three nights Terry and I have worked until nine at night, showered and collapsed in bed.  Today we both had the 'blues'... blue days? or blue daze?

He fought a headache all day today, but continued on his current push, to add cabinets to our master bath "Potty" room. We decided to paint the room first and that has taken time. I am so lucky to be married to this sweet man. We met when I was 11 and he was 13.  The last two weeks he redid the guest bath.. now the potty room for us... next the bath area and countertops in our master bath. Excitement grows!!

Meanwhile, I pushed through cleaning the studio and doing book work...with more to finish tomorrow.  Do you ever get caught up in all the details, new ink in the printer, new stamps for cards, sorting files, photos and trash, or cleaning windows?  By the time I made lunch today after running an errand with Morgan, our son next door... I spent an hour preparing lunch ... ate lunch and spent 30 minutes cleaning up my kitchen mess!  It still truly was a blessed day. I worked on keeping things focused on the moment and not getting caught in overwhelming thoughts. I started this blog at 4:30 and it is an hour later!

*** Morgan did bring a surprise to the mix... he found a special shop just a few blocks away where the main focus is a clothing factory but they have a small store there with forty percent off.  He bought me some really nice casual things including a fuzzy black coat! I may have to take pictures!  He bought Pop some nice slacks and a great shirt that matched them. Was really special and EASY and NOT crowded at all!

Days... Daze... they are soaring by quicker every single day. Is your life like this? Focus on what your heart hears from the Holy Spirit. It is not always what is in your heart for plans, but what is with the Holy Spirit and the direction HE wants you to go.  Stop and wait... listen.
May this first week of Advent bring you the hope and may you have an open heart to receive it.

One of the verses I focused on was:
For this reason,” Paul writes, “… I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.” (Ephesians 1:15-19)

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the ...
