“Hope Smiles from the threshold of the year to come,  Whispering 'it will be happier'...” Alfred Lord Tennyson

Happy New Year from Golden Pond Studio ... from both myself and from Terry, the ultimate packer shipper and wonderful man that puts up with me.  We were up early for an intimate breakfast of pancakes and fresh fruits... and then I finished up some soup and butter beans for my mom with some fresh baked cornbread. It was fast trip in and of Dallas because our Puppy Annie is still under the weather from her infection she arrived home with.

Friends from the Lake were the first before seven this morning to call and wish us a Happy New Year... and then just a few hours later, another call from my sweet friend Ann, also out near Lake Cypress Springs.  We really miss our friends from our life there. It was a short three years but it was packed with so much to do almost every weekend and throughout the week.  Terry and I discussed it and we have to step up the involvement this year.

I really do not make New Years Resolutions...but I do think about where I need to broaden my life.  We eat healthy, we do not need to lose weight... but we do need more contact with friends and family.  I am also doing a prayer journal this year and will report as I go along if I can keep up with it.

"He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelations 21:5

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Mid Summer Nights Gathering Good People Series #2 32 x 48 inches Oil on Canvas.  SHHH..Do not tell, but I am done.  It may take two years for this painting to cure out. It has to head to Mirada Fine Art in about three or four weeks... meanwhile it will be banished to the room with the dehumidifier in it.  Stay tuned at Mirada Fine Art with Steve Sonnen for more details about what is happening to this "crowd" from my Good People Series.  In fact, drop Steve an email and ask to be added to the mailing list for this special gathering.  Good food, good friends and good art.   What more could you want? Email Steve here.   Tell him to put you on the list for  the Special June Showing. Laurie Pace A Texas Artist Golden Pond Studio My Blog          My Website     ...
