I have made some strides with my painting... this is all background to come through the on coming layering. This contemporary horse painting is a tall one... and I am not sure what direction it will take this week. I will keep you in the loop. 

Tomorrow is the 12th day of Christmas. We usually leave Christmas treasures up till then, but we had such bad weather the past few weeks... we were ready to do it a day early.  Terry was a champ bringing all the boxes down from the attic and the granddaughters came and helped us take the ornaments off and carefully placed them into the ornament boxes. 

I did much contemplation this year as we lived through the holidays.  I am going to urge my adult children not to rush the holiday.  Putting the tree up two weeks before Thanksgiving is rushing things.  The hope with advent is the anticipation, prayer and contemplation of the coming birth... the journey of Mary and Joseph, the angels and their announcement to the shepherds, and the lowly shepherds in search of the babe... as well as the wise men King Herod sent out to find the babe. 

If the tree is up before Thanksgiving... you lose ALL the anticipation.  ALL the hope.  ALL the waiting. ALL the excitement as Christmas Eve and Christmas come to fruition. If you have Netflix, make sure you catch The Christmas Candle

Stepping back and allowing God to work, providing us every moment with what we need, be it strength, healing, love... He will provide it and He will walk through everything with you. 

You have 354 days until Christmas this year...savor the anticipation.  

Lamentations 3:22-23  "Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

Arrival...Refrigerator?

The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector.
