"True beauty, the kind that doesn't fade or wash off, takes time. It takes incredible endurance. It is the slow drip that creates the stalactite, the shaking of the Earth that creates mountains, the constant pounding of the waves that breaks up the rocks and smooths the rough edges. And from the violence, the furor, the raging of the winds, the roaring of the waters, something better emerges, something that would have otherwise never existed. And so we endure. We have faith that there is purpose. We hope for things we can't see. We believe there are lessons in loss, power in love, and that we have within us the potential for a beauty so magnificent, our bodies can't contain it." Amy Harmon, Making Face
Never had heard of Amy Harmon before finding this quote, and I love the quote. We do endure through our lifetime, battle after battle, be it emotional or physical. It is through that endurance we begin to form the true person we are. Like the potter and the clay, or the Diamond in the rough, God is slowly putting us through the fire to bring out the best in us.
Reach out and be there for someone who is enduring a hard time right now. Many suffer in silence. Taking the time to recognize them and let them know you are praying for them and are there for them, may make the journey through their trial a little easier.
"But the Lord will not leave them in the power of the wicked or let them be condemned when brought to trial." Psalm 37:33
