"I learned this, at least, by my experiment; That if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours." Henry David Thoreau, Walden: Or, Life in the Woods
I truly believe God has a purpose for each of our lives. In serving others we begin to fulfill that purpose. Stepping out of our comfort zones pushes us to new heights and challenges along the way. My Father and Mother always taught us to believe in the gifts we have been given by the Lord. Those gifts are not to serve ourselves but to serve others.
We should confidently approach all things in life knowing the Lord goes before us. His unfailing love for us upholds us through every trial and storm we face. While I love the writings of Thoreau, I personally cannot live a life that is all about myself and the dreams I have for myself. BUT I have found while serving others and using my gifts, success has been unexpected in common hours.
My confirmation verse:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
