Feeling the blue... and the cool of the river and the warmth of the day all in the same sweep of the eyes. This double panel was painted in about 2005 and still remains one of my favorite. Always working in odd numbers, the horses number 9. All total 18 with the reflections. Filled with peace and my favorite colors, I could see something similar to this piece painted on a very large scale... maybe 12 feet wide. I want to float on the water with them... to even swim with them.
"He leads me beside quiet waters." Psalm 23:2
Throughout scripture you find God as the living water. Quiet waters are not rushing rivers that crash through the rocks and shores. Quiet waters are not full of contamination and filth... they remain glassy and clear, reflective waters that require nothing of us to enjoy. Quiet waters is just like God's grace.. .it is free, requires nothing on our part to receive it.
The "He leads me" part is deliberate in the interpretation. It means literally "He is careful when leading me." The action is showing a given care from God directly involved to make life quiet for you.
You are loved. You are Safe and You are provided for by Him.
John 4:14 "Whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst." Jesus informed the Samaritan woman. "indeed, the water I gave him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
