“I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun.” ― Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice
The workshop was a few weeks ago. It was definitely an eye opener. Carol led the class by demonstrating how she starts a painting...and then turned us loose. My friend Sheryl and I sort of sat there... we picked up our 'rollers' and rolled on with the morning. There was frustration and timidity along with a taste of fear. It became emotion, balance, and color that dictated the journey of the painting. This was an amazing journey. I worked on two canvas the first day. This is one but I am not sure which one! The first one finished I realized this morning needs something else... so after I blog I will be painting.
The foundation seems never ending. In this process you continue to pile on the colors and layers and as things begin to weave together your find the strength of the build and direction of the painting.
Some of the journey in our lives is painful. Some is fun and full of laughter and love...and in the end, the most important thing is making the journey to the end and not giving up.
Psalm 97:2 "Clouds and thick darkness surround him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne."
