“The beginning of love is the will to let those we love be perfectly themselves, the resolution not to twist them to fit our own image. If in loving them we do not love what they are, but only their potential likeness to ourselves, then we do not love them: we only love the reflection of ourselves we find in them” ― Thomas Merton, No Man Is an Island
Well.. you might look at this and think almost finished...but it was not at this point. I sat with this and mulled wiping all the paint off of it. I did not... when I would look at it in reverse there was a strength I could not deny but I knew something was off in my balance of the leading horses in the herd. I am not going to spoil it ... or spell it out, you get to look at the next post to see where it went to.
I could never 'twist' a painting to be what it is suppose to be. It is something I see and feel in the piece that works. This one was not there yet.
"You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety. 19 You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid, and many will court your favor. Job 11: 18-19"
