Getting close to the end of the summer. The heat cannot fade away fast enough. This painting reminds me of the haze of water on the roads when it is so hot and the roads look like there are shimmering puddles from the heat.
That seems to be how life is. So much looks like shining good things to us through the mist of the media...all the treasures we seek in life. But when we stop and look at where we are, we realize the silvery haze does not exist. Everything is a mirage. It is a figment before us. Real life is filled with journeys up and down. You cannot have good without bad. You cannot have love without hate. We grow through the rough times and become stronger.
For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. 1 John 2:16
