The Cat's out of the bag... The mouse is through the door.  Where's the dog?  Who threw up on the carpet? Who left the door open?   PLEASE let the squirrels out!

Every day around us things happen.  When life is chaotic things really seem to rub you the wrong way and somehow you think you will feel better if it can be blamed on someone else but not you. Take Responsibility? Who me?

Red Roses in a Bowl reminded me of the special gift vase my mom buys every newlywed couple. It is a vase that she says the husband must fill with flowers to say I am sorry.  That is how it began at least.  Does that mean he is always in the wrong?  Humm, have to think about that. Most men would NOT appreciate flowers in a vase from their wife saying 'I am sorry."  Terry would rather have a Starbuck's coffee or a fresh baked cherry pie.

The symbolism of the gift or peace offering is for the forgiveness we seek from others.  We all mess up.  Taking responsibility for the mess up is always hard.  Forgiveness is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves.

When we let go of the resentment, anger or judgement we have of other people, we open our heart and lives to a sense of relief and freedom.  Wouldn't that feel wonderful?  To dump so much 'stuff' that it does not even flitter through your mind?  Time to let the squirrels loose from your head.

Depending on God to help you accept what is and to have clarity and power to move forward, is not always easy but it can be done. Empathy and compassion for others allows you to keep your heart and mind clear of judgemental thoughts.  Forgiving is a precious gift. You will set yourself free.

Laurie
"Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven." Luke 6:37
Post note:  Terry left the door open between the garage and the utility room. It is 35 degrees outside. Can only imagine how many critters have invaded our house.  Paddy ate too many apple slices and he emptied his stomach on my new carpet in the den. Thank goodness we do not have cats.
