AWE
This is another blend of expressive color and still representational subject matter... ie the horse. This sold directly from my home studio about 12 hours after I posted it on the blog.
In actions I am finishing up ON THE LAMB... and decided not to post progress pictures... because simply... most of it was painted straight in a 10 hour day... and touch ups after the main paint. I am holding off till Saturday to post it!
Meanwhile... what would it be like to play hooky from your every day life? Yesterday I shared one dream of a Canadian Trek... hummm what comes to mind this morning. What are you suppose to do in your sixties? Our CPA convinced us early retirement was the way to go and that is what we did. We have had fun living at the lake, and now back near the grands...but I am not ready for the rocking chair and Saturday painting.
My dearest girlfriend has taken off into her ranching and farming full time and painting is when she has time or a commission. I have known her since high school days.
Click here to see her blog and artwork and tales from the farm.
She LOVES doing her thing with her chickens, cows, honey bees and crops. She makes her own cheese.... drink's the mild from her cow. This is all from their ranch/farm...venison, peas and beets.
Peaches from her peach tree... of which she makes so many things from desserts to just freezing them for use throughout the year. I think she cans most things.
And this is her incredible homemade cheese. Debbie stepped away from everything and jumped heart long into providing for herself and family like our ancestors did.
Terry and I are not much into farming... we have our garden going and growing thanks to so many helpful hints from Debbie. Have only had tomatoes from the garden but soon to come bell peppers, squash, zucchini, carrots and more. I guess this might keep us from traveling right now...but I know in August I will be ready to bail from the Texas Heat. Might be fun to go to Upper State New York... to the wineries there. The nights are cool and the days are filled with pleasant sunshine and real rain, something rarely seen in this part of Texas.
He made the moon to mark the seasons,
and the sun knows when to go down. Psalm 104:19
