Summer Herd 2013 Racing the Night #11

So many of my little herd have sold already this summer, so I decided to do a few more. This contemporary Horse Painting is number 11 in the summer herd series of 2013. The palette knife paint is a bit thicker than many of these little ones, but I got carried away.

Notice how we do that in life? We get carried away with things. We always are thinking about what would make us happy and things to please ourselves. We seem to forget that God knows what best would please us. He know the secrets in our hearts and the desires we keep hidden from others. At the same time He probably chuckles because we really do not know what is best for us. Just like a Dad with his precious child. It is so easy as a parent to know what your child needs. They are hungry and they want a cookie… but you know they are hungry and they need fruit or vegetables, something healthy.

Maybe it is time to see what God has in store for you.

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace Graphics One Design 2013 Horse Collage Fall 2013 12 x 18 inches Mixed Media on Canvas. This was an intentional paint to imitate one of the 100 ponies I did in 2012. That poor little 8 x 10 pony was loved by a company to do very large prints and it was not here for me to even use to scan... so I created something with the same heart, a kindred spirit. The underlays are pages from a western book and then torn papers of different varieties were added along with stains of paint and purposeful areas of paint. This is how I felt. It is probably strange...even for me but I had the best fun sketching it out and painting it. We lost another dear family member this week. She has celebrated her 'continuation' day and is now with her mom and dad and her other cousins. She leaves behind a family that will always celebrate her gentleness.
