On my Easel Horse Painting by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

On my Easel in Progress:

30 x 40 inches Oil

Really not sure what direction I will end up. I have been working this horse painting this week. The paint is very thick and there is no impasto mixed in. Try as I may it is hard to paint with out color, so I know it is coming soon.  Watch for progress tomorrow.

Where do you rest?

We were up at three this morning.  Terry's tummy was not smiling.  When I dropped peppermint oil on his tummy and turned on his heating pad, he was swiftly snoring away.

I laid there and rearranged pillows trying to get comfortable after being awakened so abruptly. I kept those squirrels in my head at bay... and my mind begin to lay things at the cross again. Anything that trickled into my head trying to steal my peace was purposely left at the foot of that cross.

Suddenly a mantra popped in my head and I was repeating it to myself to remember to use it in my blog... and I must have fallen asleep to the sound,

"Lay it at the foot of the cross, Giving it up is not a loss.
Jesus will bear the pain; safe in God's arms you will remain." LPace

Each of us has our way of finding rest. At times we struggle.  Until we can release ourselves from the struggle we remain in circular motion unable to find rest.

Rest in Him this day.

Words of my heart, Laurie

"He makes me lie down in green pastures;..he restores my soul." Psalm 23:2, 3

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert and Shelia at the Southlake Lowe's in Appliances

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me” I can only speak for mys

Be Strong and Courageous

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Wild Stallion  by Laurie Pace   Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be affrighted at them:  for Jehovah thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deut 31:6 This Stallion was painted back in 2010.  I am guessing it is oil by the visible layering strokes of my palette knife. The contrasts are precise and clear. The white cuts through the dark reds. The reds concentrate the motion and the shapes and everything moves counterclockwise. Temptation is calling me to paint.  Are there times recently you have needed strength and courage and felt defeated by other things before even facing the situation? Do you feel like you are going counter clockwise? Seems like life right now for many of us. If you can face what is before you knowing the Lord God has everything under control, you are then beginning to gather wisdom.   God is often stopped by our working when we get in the way of what is mean
