Monday Monday
For some reason the Mamas and the Papas song is churning in my head:
When we stopped by to see my Mom this past weekend she reminded me of something... with the let go and let God. What about the times you are so lost or caught in illness or pain that you cannot get there rationally?
It does happen and I was warned by my minister when I took confirmation classes at age 13. He told us all there would be times like this and my mom just reminded me of just that. As we memorized several long bible verses and the Apostle's Creed he was preparing us for these times. When you cannot pray or form words or thoughts, allow those things to come to the front of your mind and float through. Mom say you have breathe...and she is right...breathe in God and breathe out pain, fear or frustration. When there is no control it is only worse when you fight a situation, so breathe my friend... breathe.
As we start this week, closing the 10th anniversary of 911, we know many families and individuals lived through those terrifying moments, some dying instantly, some frantically trying to escape smoke and fire, others trapped on airplanes with hijackers and the families members just waiting for word. I can only imagine their inability to process what was happening to their loved ones.
Terry has several films of footage shot during Pearl Harbor. The same terror filled the hearts of Americans back then and we went forward as a nation, one nation under God, indivisible. Fly your flag this week in remembrance of our troops that protect our freedom and the memory of those that died from the terrorist attacks.
..."That Monday evening You would still be here with me." and every second of every day.

"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."
Psalm 23
For some reason the Mamas and the Papas song is churning in my head:
Monday Monday, so good to me,
Monday Monday, it was all I hoped it would be
Oh Monday morning, Monday morning couldn't guarantee
That Monday evening you would still be here with me.
Monday Monday, it was all I hoped it would be
Oh Monday morning, Monday morning couldn't guarantee
That Monday evening you would still be here with me.
