Today is their first married day together, my niece and her new husband. Weddings in the family are always a joyous event.   We just  celebrated Morgan's marriage to Kelly the end of May and now it is time to celebrate this union. Tomorrow on the Fourth of July, it is the one year anniversary for Justin and his beautiful bride Tara.

Marriage is not always easy.  I shudder remembering back to early days of adjustments. Still today I get disgruntled when the toilet paper is put on with the flap of paper going under instead of over.  Simple stupid things. Yet deeper are the chords that tie us together. The experiences and growth that have formed us as a couple. The sad times, the angry times, the joyful times and the times we laughed and loved and fell asleep in total bliss.

His hands are the hands of man that works hard and give his entire heart.  They are rough and worn and bear the marks of 60 years of living and making his way with his hands as a brick mason and an airline mechanic.  My hands show the years of motherhood, holding my babies close to heart,  cleaning my own house (always have), yard work and mowing,  and the years of guitar playing, painting and teaching.  Our hands come together when we sleep at night; our hands come together when we pray at meals and as we wake; our hands join together when we walk; our hands hold tight when we sit side by side watching  a movie. Our hands held our grand daughter together as he cut her umbilical chord. Our hands held tight as we buried our eldest grandson, Terry's dad, brother and his mom. Our hands pull together our love for family.

We pray today for this new 'family' as it begins it first day as Mr and Mrs.  May their hands be joined in this new life together.

Mark 10:6-9

"But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.'' For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
