FAST TRIP

We left early yesterday to drive into Dallas to pick up large sheets of cardboard and the framed paintings from The Dutch Art Gallery. Pam is by far the best framer in the US... really truly true. Levi grumbled when Terry put a hole in the back brown paper on one piece but he redid it for us and we actually made it back home by 1:30 in the afternoon. 

Good thing we did as both dogs decided the extra veggies Terry fed them last night did not agree with their constitution and they both had the runs.  We were airing the house out for hours...but all is good now.

Fast Trip... hurry hurry hurry. Isn't that the way our lives seem today?  I was so relaxed going in yesterday that the trip in flew by us both.  We were at Uline at the appointed time.. and stopped at Whole Foods for a yummie breakfast burrito, then Asel Art and then the Dutch Art Gallery.  We were on the road home before noon. 

We had prayed together on Sunday night and again before we left yesterday and decided not to make it feel rushed...and it worked out flawlessly.  Had we put restraints and conditions and expectations in the trip, we would have been fighting Dallas traffic at 5 pm yesterday.  God was truly good to us and the trip successful.

Maybe it is time to turn more over to Him in our lives.  When things seem piled upon you simply STOP and take a three minute breathing/praying break.  This will defuse the energy that has built in your  mind and your body will begin to relax.  I will be praying much with our trip this week. I literally hate trips...the before time. Once we leave it takes the first day out and then I am hooked and ready for adventure. I have to wean myself away from the constraints I put on myself each day.  Learning to relax is NOT an easy thing to do. 

Harder this time making this trip is remembering our last trip to New York in September and Terry's dad passing away while we were on the road trying desperately to get back.  If you read my blog back then, you remember that we were held up by car problems that should not have happened and delays left and right. We were not meant to be home with him.  Terry and his dad loved each other so much and every moment they spent together was pure quality. There was nothing left to be said between them. God has His plan and it truly was not our plan.  I remember Ben phoning me as we left Memphis heading into Arkansas.  He was so weak and begging for help. We had just spoken to him 12 hours earlier and he was fine.  I made several emergency calls to hospice and to the doctor's office and he had help to him within the hour...but we did not make it back due to what we thought was family interference, but in reality it was God doing it His way.

So sit back and breath. Let God take the lead in your life. Allow Him to fill you with His love and peace. You will arrive where you are suppose to be when you are suppose to get there and no sooner despite your desperation to control things.

Arrival...Refrigerator?

The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector.
