Choice of Joy

Think back to past situations in your life and think about the ones that flash by the fastest.  Throughout your life situations come and go and your spirit handles each differently.  I remember sad sad times when Terry's mom had a aneurysm explode in her head and our lives changed in an instant.  It was right before our wedding...about 20 years ago.  It was a time of hospitals, doctors, tubes, heart monitors etc and very little time to smile.   I remember a day of love and laughter when we did get married... and my dad walked me down the aisle of the church I was confirmed in,  and then flash forward 14 years to his diagnosis with Alzheimers.  Love and joy and back to shock and fear.  

Our lives are filled with mountains and valleys. If I had not been connected to God through all of this I would not have journeyed through the painful times with a knowing of optimism and acceptance. Connecting with God allows emotions to flow through me and those sorrowful times are replaced with comfort of His love and the presence of pure grace.

Choose Joy and bind your heart to Him.

That poor little 8 x 10 pony was loved by a company to do very large prints and it was not here for me to even use to scan... so I created something with the same heart, a kindred spirit. The underlays are pages from a western book and then torn papers of different varieties were added along with stains of paint and purposeful areas of paint.  This would not be a painting I would do today, but the goal was to capture the spirit of the first painting. We lost another dear family member this week. She has celebrated her 'continuation' day and is now with her mom and dad and her other cousins.  She leaves behind a family that will always celebrate her gentleness.  My aunt was special to all of us. She loved each of us dearly for who we were and was always ready with a hug or a 'good job'.    My memories are of breakfast pastries smeared with butter on top. It was not like they were not sweet enough as they were, but at her small kitch...
