'More Progress on Winter Solstice'
30 x 40 Oil on Canvas
We are back in Mt Vernon and hopefully I can finish up this painting. I think every thing was mailed off for Christmas. I have three books here to mail out and that is the last of the shipping. Now Terry and I are going to relax over the next few days before we head back to Ft Worth/Dallas.
It was hard leaving the baby yesterday. She cried when we left... she thought she should be with us. THAT was hard. She is a love. Watch for more pictures....I took some before we left yesterday of her in her pajamas... it was pj day at school yesterday.
When I think of this painting and the slow build up on layers of buttery Holbein Oils... I think of our lives and how experiences build up for us to develop character, just as this painting builds up character with it's layers. We shape ourselves every day with what we say and do. Be watchful and build carefully. God is there beside you all the way.
Simple abundance...

“But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”” - Matthew 1:20-21
