The Painting: I have been cleaning out my studio for three days on and off...of course only two hours on Friday and all day yesterday and some this morning already. Hope to mop the floors. It almost sounds empty in here.. weird. I found this prepainted canvas with wonderful mauves, blues and pinks like you see in the sky at sunset as the sun departs the sky and the moon wanes overhead between the sunset clouds.... peaking out early. We saw those last night on the way home from eating hamburgers... So as I painted on my newly cleared off table... this came to the top with soft colors showing well used muscles of an ancient horse from my dreams. He is gorgeous. He is the Warrior of Old.
The Thought: One of my favorite episodes (and I rarely watch TV..but Terry found Two and a Half Men on TV at 6:30 in the evenings during the week.... and we laugh till we cry.) in Two and a Half Men is when Charlie is teaching young Jake, about 12 years old... how to cover everything with the words, "I understand." The entire episode keeps you in stitches as you begin to realize you can use that phrase almost 99.9 percent of the time and it works and people think you are wonderful.
"I understand."
So now days around our house we have taught Crystal not to always say, "I am sorry" but to say, "I understand". You know, it truly works and it so much better for all of us.
"I understand."
Normally when folks are down and under pressure we say, "I am sorry." NADA GOOD. Next time say, "I understand." The empathy in those two words is huge. So many times we are all under pressures that no one truly could identify with, but to hear someone say, "I understand" breaks down so many barriers and it sends out caring love to the person you say it to... you are identifying with them at their level.
Know my friend, God knows the hidden thoughts of your heart right now. He knows your circumstances from His view and that is all encompassing. He also knows how you feel. God knows you best and he does understand...truly understands.
Trust in Him this day ..... do you understand? I understand.
