The Painting:  Soul Mates... Yes this is for the two friends, lovers, couples, married folks... the two people that are in sync with each other.  The two that can finish a sentence for each other or know what the other is thinking from miles away.  Soul Mates.  One of my UK collectors saw this and said it reminder her of Easter.  The more I looked I saw what she saw... the Lord is part of your soul as well...woven through you and about you...His touch surrounds you.

The Thought: HAPPY NEW YEAR!  2010 is here and the beginning of a new decade.  Are you ready to go?  Are you ready to start a new day in a new decade and a new life dropping all the old stress you carry around?  If you can figure it out, drop me another email...I am still working on it.

NO I did not make a list of New Year's Resolutions. I have enough lists on my desktop already.  That would be another thing of stress to follow an additional list.  BUT I will share this for you.

Take the time to pull out a card or note cards and write down your WANTS for the new year and your NEEDS for the new year. You can even do it for a five year plan.  Think of it like you are shopping on the internet and you can't have just anything you want, but reasonable things you want, career wise, family wise, personal repair wise, whatever.

I just completed this for myself.  I did it in 1999 and every year for the past ten years I reviewed the cards and I did it all. I achieved my goals, got things I listed that I didn't even know I listed (like the Passat I drive that I did not want five years ago, but I did want it in 1999.) It is totally amazing to know if you pray and believe and trust in Him, you will find that in a short time you will get everything you have written down or even better.  I have a total of 13 things right now and will add a few more over the next few days.   Nine things are NEEDS and the rest are wants.  Some of the things I wrote down are personal changes I need to face and deal with.  Those are private not to be share;  you write tall of yours down and put them away until the end of 2010. Then you look at them again.  Save them through the next few years as somethings take longer than others to happen.

Most of all believe in God; believe in yourself.  Believe in Abundance. Believe it can happen.

Mixed Media Collage Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Justus Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Horse Collage Fall 2013  12 x 18 inches Mixed Media on Canvas.  This was an intentional paint to imitate one of the 100 ponies I did in 2012. That poor little 8 x 10 pony was loved by a company to do very large prints and it was not here for me to even use to scan... so I created something with the same heart, a kindred spirit. The underlays are pages from a western book and then torn papers of different varieties were added along with stains of paint and purposeful areas of paint.  This would not be a painting I would do today, but the goal was to capture the spirit of the first painting. Laurie     © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Website   Thinking ahead to the Thanksgiving celebration next week, I remembered back to those previous dinners that I cooked, served, ate quickly, and cleaned up.  This is how I felt.  It is probably strange...even for me but I had the best fun sketching it out and painting it. We lost another dear family member this week. She has celebrated her 'continuation' day and is now with her mom and dad and her other cousins.  She leaves behind a family that will always celebrate her gentleness.  My aunt was special to all of us. She loved each of us dearly for who we were and was always ready with a hug or a 'good job'.    My memories are of breakfast pastries smeared with butter on top. It was not like they were not sweet enough as they were, but at her small kitch...

Sleeping Cowboy . Ernest Hemingway . Sunday, a day of rest . Western Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

My life has the tendency to fall apart when I'm awake, you know?” Ernest Hemingway  I really enjoyed painting this scene. It was restful to me as the artist  and loved by our friends.  Sunday is the day of rest. I smiled when I found this in archives and thought it perfect for this day.  If you live in Texas you know that we still have 'rules' about not selling liquor before noon.  If you live in Texas and are in your late thirties and up, you might even remember Blue Laws.   Stores were simply NOT open...
