I do believe we have had ten inches of rain since I blogged yesterday. I have been trying to call Terry as we have water coming in on the floor in the dining room. Has to do with the piled up dirt on the back porch that was jack hammered out for the gas repair two months ago. Not a priority for him and now water is coming in because it pooled up and cannot drain. Must be close to 20 inches high. The entire window sill is wet. I am choosing NOT to go out in the dark rain with a flashlight (We have no lights working remember) to shovel mud at five fortyfive in the morning.

We tried to go to FEDEX late yesterday afternoon but the entire city was under water with many highways closed. Our visitors arrived in the midst of the torrential rains and we had no electricity at all anywhere. Normally we have 5% of the lights working and I can use lamps plugged into the walls, but our power was off from the storm. We drove to have lunch and in the midst of lunch the ceiling started leaking in the restaurant. WE did enjoy the company and the food though. Plans were made to meet in Grapevine the next trip. We had a wonderful day with our son and grandson. Jon is getting so tall now. He is only ten and has to be close to 5ft 4 inches. I will include a video of him and I at the piano below my posting today. I taught him to play chopsticks.

Spring showers bring to mind the washing and cleaning of the earth. Perhaps that is why we have Spring cleaning. This would be the week to do that in our soul and our mind. Spring cleaning is different than the new year and starting over. I am thinking from my position this morning that starting over is not always the right way. We have what we have and it is often better to learn to clean up what is around you in your life and take the good of what is there and scrub up the bad areas to shine. As those showers move out and the earth is covered with sunlight, you will need your sunglasses to see through the overpowering reflection of heaven through the left over raindrops and moisture covering the world around you. God is good and He is here with us.

Jonathan came to visit today and we sat at my baby grand Knabe and I taught him chopsticks! Charlene, when the video starts look behind at the garden room at my blooming azealas, roses and begonias!!!

Grace,
Laurie

"I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth." Genesis 9 :13

Prayer is a powerful tool for Christians. Sometimes I don't use it as often as I should.

I received this email today and I truly do not do and never have done chain letters, but I do pray for each of you daily that read this blog before I begin writing it every morning. I pray that God will guide my thoughts and fingers as I blog and that my small message will reach at least one heart in that day. But I will share the prayer that arrived moments ago in my email box. Thank you Eileen!
"Subject: Pray
Just wanted to tell everyone that I am so grateful to have each of you in my life. I pray you all have a blessed day. It was difficult for me to decide who I thought would DO this because many people claim to pray, but not everyone does. I hope I chose the right twelve.

There are 12 months/ 12 disciples/ 12 tribes of Israel / Jesus' birth celebrated in the 12th month. There is nothing attached. Just send this to twelve others. Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. There is no cost, just a lot of reward. Make sure you pray, and pray believing God will answer. May today be all you need it to be. May the peace of God and the freshness of the Holy Spirit rest in your thoughts, rule in your dreams tonight, and conquer all your fears. May God manifest himself today in ways you have never experienced. May your joys be fulfilled, your dreams be closer, and your prayers be answered. I pray that faith enters a new height for you; I pray that your territory is enlarged. I pray for peace, healing, health, happiness, prosperity, joy, true and undying love for God."

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the ...
