My wire one on wheels is about dead. I remember when I bought it back in 2003 and was SOO worried because it cost $350 for it at the Container Store. Little did I know it would be worked so hard over the past six years and the little wheels won't stay on it and it leans like a tower bending.  It groans when I pull open the drawers. Terry has been on the phone collecting missing emails.  I simply did not get to make cards this year and this is what we are doing. The positive thing is there are lots of pictures going out in the letter to friends and family. Beautiful weather found us delivering the remaining of our bread basket gifts to our friends out in East Texas.  It is fun to go visiting and see all the homes decorated for Christmas.  My favorite was Jacque's old registered prairie farm house. A first broken bone, speech therapy, basketball, baseball, Playhouse Disney etc.   There was a point my voice broke and I stopped reading.  The tears were falling and the world seemed to turn upside-down.   The youngest son, only age 3, was diagnosed in October with a rare form of kidney...

It is cold outside and it will be cold in my back porch studio. It has windows but not heated and cooled with out help. Terry has several good heaters out there for me to work, but I have to turn them on and start up the heat.    I had decided as I sketched today that the painting would be based on the upcoming Winter Solstice . Early Morning our power went out as the storm moved in.  It was after lunch before it went back on and so my day started late....very late.   We drove into Mt Pleasant and had a hot breakfast at IHOP and then to Lowe's to pick up a few things. Arriving back home just after noon, we had heat again...and lights of course.  Until you do with out you cannot appreciate what you have that is something so  simple.  Heat.  Going with out heat last spring in Dallas for over a week with temps in the low twenties was more than enough for me. I will not stay in a home with out heat again. That was horrible...like nightmare horrible.   Times in life are like that. Not everything is good ever...

We had chosen a seven year old girl to buy for and went to Old Navy for clothes and to Target for toys.  We love doing this every year.  T'is the season to be giving from the heart and your time to those that are in need. Terry had thrown out my wreath for the front door. SO, he took me to Hobby Lobby and helped pick out things to put together a new wreath for the front door.  He had bought a live tree for us to decorate and then hopefully plant after Christmas...but dad gum it looks like a Charlie Brown Tree. It is pretty pitiful.  We are going to address that this week.  He helped decorate the fireplace and move some things around for Christmas ...
