I will post just one or two images of the progress and then the final.   Terry has just gone through his second corneal transplant.  My time is limited with the care required his first week or so from surgery.  We are hoping it goes as well this time as it did on his first eye. I does limit my presence in the studio as my time is spent keeping up the garden, the trees and the yard until he is back up and making it happen with watering, mowing, and tending to everything.  I get spoiled with his help and his cooking so I can paint and work on Visual Language Magazine.   So thankful for all we have. #horsepainting  #lauriepaceart  #equineart ...

The painting was done in September of 2009 when I was still selling on Ebay. I stopped doing ebay sales the first part of 2010. This painting was bought by a collector in Canada and shipped to her five years ago. Last week I had an email through my website from a person in Toronto that had purchased the painting but it did not have a COA.  Fortunately the person was an interior designer and she knew my work when she bought the painting.  She sent me an image of it for me to confirm it but sent it with the painting sideways and for the life of me, it did not look like my painting. Here below is the older original. You can see they wanted more pink in the new one. I thought the older one had more gold and brown tones. It seems obvious here but as it progresses it softens. Life is sometime obvious and rough...but as time progresses things seem to work out and soften with time. Using the brush seemed foreign in the beginning but after an hour or two... it became second nature again.  I probably have a total of 22 hours in this painting. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  I was contacted by a couple in Florida to paint a magnolia painting "JUST LIKE" one I painted ten years ago.  I do not know about you, but I am not in the same place I was ten years ago.  I think of it as asking a 16 year old to write like they did at age 6.  An artist progresses with style development and it just does not stay the same. This week I have been finishing up a magnolia painting and restructuring my studio.  So it has been a glance into the past and the diversity of my work. This is eight years later and style has changed and I feel stronger in many areas but at the same time realize how much I miss painting 'other' things. This Father's Day I am missing my father but I feel his presence every single day.  When reflecting or faced with a situation or a decision, I am always thinking about what he would advise me to do or how he would handle a situation. SOLD Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  This painting was one of two painted for a commission for a collector in Florida in 2006.  This one below was the second one completed in 2006 entitled: Palm by Night 15 x 30 inches Oil.  When Jim contacted me about palms trees and swamps, I swallowed hard and said, "Sure, I can do it." I have seen palms trees through out my life, but can easily tell you, never a swamp in person. He came up with six pictures and the composition settled on was a part of each of those pictures. I couldn't wait to paint as the colors began to settle on the canvas. The larger one was a six day painting with about five layers of paint.
