The White Dog Gallery While I am 'on the water' I will be featuring some available work at some of the galleries. This one is a contemporary Horse Painting at the White Dog Gallery in Carbondale, Colorado.  Thick paint and lots of patterns create energy abounding with my wild palette knife approach. Blues Contemporary Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Blues  24 x 30 x 2 inches Oil on Canvas. Needs a Home. Buy Blues here. We are slowly unpacking. Terry is painting room by room and only on room two right now, but no hurry....right?  Meanwhile I am slowly unpacking paintings and painting new ones and these BLUES need a home. This contemporary horse painting is incredible in person with thick paint and vivid colors.   This is a chance to pick up one of my pieces for a good price too.  I am in a thinking mode for my next pieces. Pam at Dutch Art has ask me for some Sailboats, so I may be on the water for awhile contemplating this. Do you often complain about being tired? Do you often complain about being too heavy?  Do you often complain about being over stressed? Do you do anything about any of it?  You alone are responsible for yourself. Make some changes in life. Simplify. Laurie Pa...

Three in the Sun Contemporary Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Three in the Sun  9 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas. Available. Leftover paint always bugs me... and I had a sketch filled with energy and my knife took off with the leftovers on this 9 x 12 canvas. This is available if you want to email me . Special pricing for the summer.   I am ready for the weekend. How about you? Father's Day is upon us and I already have thought of my dad this entire week. I miss him. He went to live with the Lord last year. Hoping hubby likes what the kids are getting him.  He keeps taking things over to use Larry's grill across the street. Ours was toast so we left it behind at the lake. Three guesses what will be here for him this weekend.  I might even get a break from the kitchen now!   Happy Fathers Day. Nude Painting UnNamed by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Nude  24  x 30 inches Acrylic on Canvas. Available.  Well the color was fun as I approached it open hearted and no color palette in mind.  Bits of Liz Hill floated through my mind but Liz is not handy to say "NO" to me.. and I am afraid to try it and let go further without Liz's urging. This will sit for a week or more as I decide what to do for the next steps. Rushing into things was something my Dad frowned upon.  Planning and making lists were his main guide in life.  He kept his tool box full of ideas to push himself to be the best he could be and he taught that to all three of his children.  Thanks Dad. I will remember there are times to back away and let life happen. Things tend to work out better that way. I love you.  Laurie Pace A Texas Artist Golden Pond Studio My Blog        ...

Nude Sketch on Canvas by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 More Playing Time  24 x 30 inches Acrylic on Canvas. Available As I began this one I used one of my sketches from long ago. always something new to create with it.   By doing something totally 180 degrees from what I do daily, I am able to stretch my mind and let go to try things differently. This will get an entire coating of acrylic paint but in the end I will probably hit it with the knife and oils.  I often talk about the many layers of a painting is no different than the layers in our lives.  Every layer is a new experience.  Laurie Pace A Texas Artist Golden Pond Studio My Blog          My Website          Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards          CFAI.co      GALLERY LINKS Mirada Fine Art Denver CO ,   The Rare...

Contemporary Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 No ideas...  24 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas.  clueless...  Some days you are totally baffled by happenings and often overcome trying to control things. I am definitely in the way of this painting.  I will see this through but probably will do a repaint of the sketch as this was not the direction of intent. Do you often go off intent on going a certain place and find yourself sidetracked? Then you know where I am right now. Blessings to you.  Laurie Pace A Texas Artist Golden Pond Studio My Blog          My Website          Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards          CFAI.co      GALLERY LINKS Mirada Fine Art Denver CO ,   The Rare Gallery Jackson Hole WY   The White Dog Gallery Carbondale, CO. Beginnings Sketch to Canvas Contemporary Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Sketches to Canvas.  24 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas.   Only a beginning and sometimes a second beginning or third beginning. Not expecting much but we will see. Planning things out is almost foreign to me at times as I prefer to allow the knife and color to create the spirit of what is to come. Do you get in the way of God's work in your life?  Have to let go and let Him work on things. He has so much ahead for each of us and many blessings to discover. Sometimes the smallest ones found in the times of hurt and tragedy are the most precious ones. Crossing the Meadow Contemporary Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Crossing the Meadow  16 x 20 inches Oil on Canvas. SOLD Commissioned Painting  I arrived at the smile I wait for and that feeling of energy and completeness.  Incredible knife work with very thick strokes of color complete this dynamic contemporary horse painting heading for the United Kingdom when it is dry. That may be a month as thick as this paint is.  To the drying room it will go. A new week is already begun and I have sketches in mind as I begin  to work in the studio this week.   I read something recently that struck home for me as the parent  of adult children with children and some without. As a parent you want and wish for the best for your children. I have to stop myself from over doing and still trying to 'fix' things.   Neale Donald Walsch sent this out in his message last week. On this day o...

SOLD Commission  This horse painting is for a new collector in the UK.  We have corresponded and I am ready to begin. Summer is upon us here in Texas.  I have been busy with the last issue of Visual Language Magazine. If you have never seen it, you are missing out on fabulous art and studio visits with leading artists from around the world. This month features a studio visit with Morgan Weistling and his wife JoAnn Peralta as well as one with American portrait artist David Darrow . Here is the July issue of Visual Language. ENJOY! Color Fast Final Contemporary Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Color Fast 24 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas.  From the tight sketch with black paint to the heavy stroking of palette knife oil... you have the finished painting. I am learning less it best as I begin to examine different approaches to the canvas. Cannot wait to paint again tomorrow. Need to order more canvas as I have gone through two full orders of my specially stretched canvas from Rupen at http://canvasplace.com  He uses special smooth canvas on my ordered pieces, not the norm. I do not want a toothy surface to work on.   I imagine God would not like a 'toothy surface' to work on with us either, but being human we tend to really get dirty in life. We are full of mars and scratches and rough on the edges.  He is ever patient with us waiting for us to let go and let Him lead. It would be less wear and tear on our lives.   Keep it simple. Lau...
