Tripping Up and Falling Down . Walking by Faith and not by Sight . Horse of Midnight . Contemporary Western Horse Paintings
When we bought this two story house two years ago, Diane Whitehead laughed when I posed the thought... "Gee, I am getting older, not so sure about doing stairs." She assured me it was wonderful exercise and I would stay younger. Walking by faith, we bought the house, not because of the stairs, but the location across the street from our daughter and her family. Today, two years later, we stand in faith that we made the right decision and God has provided everything we needed to be here. Occasionally we have those "panic moments" of "what have we done?", but standing in faith allows us to live life courageously and confidently knowing we cannot see the underlying good in every situation.
It took about 8 months before I had an encounter of the third dimension on the stairs. It was Christmas eve and family had begun to arrive. I was suffering from severe bronchitis and pretty worn down. I realized I had forgotten a group of small gifts upstairs and went up for them. It was the coming down or the falling down I remember. I missed the last two steps and literally 'flew' downward clutching the gifts and landing on my right hip. I think it was my wake up call to use the banister from that day on and I have. Now if I can figure out how to not trip up the stairs...
Through faith we can remain steady and strong and know that God walks with us and will show us the way to achieve our highest good. When we trip up or fall down, He is there with us to pick us up. Through my experience the 'highest good' is never what we anticipate. Be courageous and walk confidently with God.
Blessings, Laurie
